For the fourth year in a row, the cooperation with the international fashion school “Istituto Cordella Fashion School” (Italy) continues. The Faculty of Arts and Creative Technologies hosted the school’s manager Indrė Matutytė-Cordella, and the designer Manuel Federico Cordella. A large group of students of the Faculty, together with the lecturers, attended the lectures of the guests with great interest.
Indrė Matutytė-Cordella presented the fashion school and gave an overview of its history, managerial aspects and creative activities. While demonstrating the students’ creative collections, the lecturer was also pleased to see the wedding dress designed and made by two young graduates of the Fashion Design programme of our Faculty, Viktorija Jocytė and Paula Radavičiūtė, who had completed their internship at the Istituto Cordella Fashion School a year ago and who were featured on the pages of the Italian magazine Lofficiel alongside the other models of young Italian designers. During the lectures, Indrė Matutytė-Cordella shared her impressions of the fashion week that has just taken place in Milan and introduced the audience to the latest fashion and colour trends.
Manuel Cordella, the owner of the Fashion School and lecturer in fashion design and modelling, was willing to share his professional knowledge with the students of the Fashion Design Department during the workshop. In particular, the guest paid a lot of attention and gave valuable practical advice to the first-year students of the Fashion Design programme and the implementation of their experimental models. Other students were able to gain professional experience by observing all the creative processes of construction and modelling “from sketch to layout”.
We hope that the creative experience, professional knowledge and excellence of the Italian guests will inspire our students to take on bolder creative challenges to realise their artistic ideas.
