On 29 – 30 October, the third year students of the Fashion Design and Image Design study programmes, together with lecturers M. Nakaite, R. Rimgailaite, J. Raupeliene, Dr. E. Strazdiene, M. Polunina, and the supervisor of the internship R. Laurinavičienė, visited Riga, where during an educational excursion, they acquired professional knowledge and creative ideas at the Fashion Museum and a modern clothing manufacturing company.

At the Fashion Museum in Riga, the young designers examined historical costumes dating back to the 18th century, as well as some of the most striking creative works by Western European designers.  The students were particularly interested in the British designer Vivienne Westwood’s collection currently on display at the museum, learning about her creative heritage, ideas and unique fashion philosophy.

The visit also included a visit to Spectre, a leisure and sportswear company known for its innovative solutions and advanced technologies. The students and lecturers had the opportunity to observe the technological processes at close quarters and to get acquainted with the modern infrastructure of the textile industry.

This experience undoubtedly provided valuable knowledge and inspiration for further professional creative activities for all participants.
