From 27 th to 30 th September, the teachers of the Department of Performing Arts – Eglė Juozapaitienė, Dalia Babilaitė-Abarė and Jūratė Vilūnaitė visited the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, Slovakia, with a teaching visit. Here they were warmly welcomed and pleasantly surprised by the motivation and professional skills of the future actors studying at the academy who have had little singing practice until now.

Stage speech teacher Jūratė Vilūnaitė shared the method of the famous vocal teacher Kristin Linklater. This method of voice training is taught in most of the best acting schools around the world. This year, Jūratė became a certified teacher of this method, the first in the Baltic countries. Solo singing teachers Eglė Juozapaitienė and Dalia Babilaitė-Abarė were happy to share their accumulated experience, which formed an effective teaching methodology. The teachers of the faculty were happy that foreign colleagues: vocal teacher, popular Slovak jazz singer Adriena Bartosova and stage language teacher, head of the department, actor Michal Rezny carefully observed the intensive master’s lectures and got involved in the process themselves. During the visit, possibilities for further cooperation were discussed with the teachers, students and the Erasmus+ exchange program coordinator of the academy, Helena Capova, in order to achieve a more active involvement of both higher education institutions in the Erasmus+ exchange programme.

After intensive teaching, Eglė, Jūratė and Dalia were able to enjoy moments of rest, during which they managed to admire not only the especially cozy old town of Bratislava, but also the city of Vienna, which is only an hour away, full of culture, and of great beauty, whose streets seemed to be filled with the sounds of a musical that weekend.
