In the very centre of Vilnius, from September 15 th to 17 th, various national communities of Lithuania gathered for the Folk Festival, celebrating crafts, national cuisine, and traditions. For the sixth time, representatives from our faculty presented an impressive concert programme “I AM AND YOU ARE VILNIUS VI” on Friday afternoon.

Evita Cololo, a student of the Popular Music Studies programme, performed four of her original songs and Angie Stone’s song “Wish I Didn’t Miss You” on the main stage of the festival. The students’ performance was curated by the head of the Rhythmic Music Department, Pranas Kentra.

Students from the Dance Pedagogy programme, dressed in beautiful national costumes, performed the Lithuanian folk dance “Kepurinė,” which they prepared together with lecturer Živilė Adomaitienė.

The students of the Image Design study programme of the Department of Fashion Design impressed the audience with the collection of creative projects “Guests”, which was inspired by interpretation of the spirit of Japanese culture. The presentation of the student collection was supervised by Silvija Grušnienė and Lolita Malinauskienė, lecturers of the Department of Fashion Design.

As usual, the faculty student performance ended with students from the Musical Theatre Studies programme, who performed well-known, melodious pieces from popular movies and musicals. The audience applauded and sang along, and a few Spanish-speaking girls couldn’t resist joining in the dance. This impressive performance was prepared for the students by Povilas Butkus, a lecturer from the Stage Art Department.

Our students were supported with loud applause by the representatives of the Kolegija Administration, faculty students, teachers, and staff, as well as a large group of people who came to the festival. We sincerely thank the programme host, Kamilė Smaidžiūnaitė, a student from the Musical Theatre Studies programme, all the students who performed on stage, and the teachers who guided them, for many beautiful moments and positive experiences.
