International interdisciplinary Forum „Designing the Smart City“ provides an international platform for the exchange of brave, unexpected, conceptual ideas and research findings on recent understanding of sustainability and a crucial role of education.
This forum is seen as space for open discussion among the audience, professionals and practitioners of various fields.
We entered the age of planetary limits. Human and social capital has to be enabled for new societal model and new governance system. That aims at sustainable wellbeing of all humans; immensely complex transition will touch every sector. The education sector can be involved as others, however this particular sector can or have to become the driving force of this transition.
Do educational systems, models, methods have the ability to adapt new change world of innovations and opportunities? What skills, competencies, knowledge need people right now? How can learning be participative, engaging and inspiring in order to develop values needed for sustainable wellbeing of all humans in the planet?
The start for discussions will be given by key speech of Audronė Alijošiutė, an expert, sustainability consultant, Director of Responsible Business, Association of Lithuania (LAVA). The focus of her work is to develop and support capacity in delivering sustainability strategies and implementation means within the different levels of governance.
This venue will spread the concept of social design and activate the process of design thinking.
