Pranas Kentra, Head of the Rhythmic Music Department Has Been Elected Member of the Evaluation Committee of the “Ventspils Groove 2023” Competition

After a break of three years, the VENTSPILS GROOVE 2023 competition of individual performers, instrumental and vocal-instrumental ensembles took place in the Ventspils concert hall “Latvija” on March 16, 2023. The competition was organized by the artistic education competence centre “Ventspils Music Secondary School”. Performers from all over Latvia – Jelgava, Riga, Cēsias, Rezekne, Liepaja and Ventspils – participated in the competition. The main goal of the competition was to promote the professional development of young musicians.

Beata Zviedrė, a vocalist with versatile musical experience, Indriķis Veitners, professor at JVLMA, and assist. professor   Pranas Kentra, head of the Department of Rhythmic Music of the Faculty of Arts and Creative Technologies at VIKO, participated in the work of the evaluation committee.
