Master classes by the famous trumpeter and composer Tomasz Dąbrowski

On April 4, the famous Polish trumpeter and composer Tomasz Dąbrowski shared his experience with the students of the Popular Music Study Programme. This music is played by a trumpet and an instrument called the Balkan horn. His strong, instantly recognizable sound and expressive playing are inspired by free jazz, the Berlin avant-garde and Eastern European folk. Maestro led master classes and creative workshops of ensemble playing for students of the popular music study programme. Together with the teacher of the Department of Rhythmic Music, Arkadij Gotesman, the guest organized a concert where the audience could hear original improvisations.

Tomasz, one of the most talented trumpet players and composers in Europe, has released eight albums and dozens of CDs. In 2017 the journal “All About Jazz” listed Tomasz Dąbrowski as one of the 15 most significant European jazz musicians of today.
