Exchange student intership in a clothing company – Jūratės manufaktūra

Kinjal Popat, an exchange student from Parul University (India), after graduating from Vilniaus kolegija / Higher Education Institution, Faculty of Arts and Creative Technologies, did an internship in the clothing company JŪRATĖ MANUFAKTŪRA. This company cherishes Lithuanian traditions. The student had the opportunity to get a closer look at old weaving traditions, linen processing tools, clothes from different regions, and a unique weaving technique that combines linen and leather. She worked with the 100-year-old hand-weaving loom on display in the gallery. Weaving was not entirely new to Kindžal. India has a deep tradition in this area, so it was interesting to discover the similarities and differences. We thank Jūratė Manufactory for cooperation, sharing all the experience and ideas and supporting young talents.
