A BARBER ?

A barber – a male hairdresser, a beard stylist, who performs a range of men’s procedures: hair cutting, shaping of beard and eyebrows, shaving with a razor, facial massage.

Students Greta Seliukaitė, Liudvika Vilimaitė, Gintarė Skorbutė, Martyna Miežetytė and Dalius Maračinskas specializing in hairstyle design from the Image Design Study Programme participated in the Erasmus+ student mobility project  “A Barber  – the Oldest Profession in the World” from June to December.

The project was implemented in Lithuania by the company UAB “WOXX BARBERS”, in which practical training was conducted by a renowned specialist in the field, one of the best barbers in Europe, Raimondas Pasternackis. The coordination of project implementation activities was led by Silvija Grušnienė, a lecturer from the Fashion Design Department, while lecturer Inga Čirvinskienė provided initial knowledge in the specialty of hairstyle design. Students from Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania, in this project, familiarized themselves with the barber’s profession, gained additional competencies in the professional, customer service, marketing fields, and the possibilities of using social networks to sell services. They also got acquainted with the culture and history of other countries.
