Our Professor Derek Barnes!

Students and lecturers at the Department of Performing Arts are extremely pleased and proud to know Professor Derek Barnes (London, JK). Professor has been visiting Vilniaus kolegija/University of Applied Sciences for 6 years. He is well known in many European musical theaters and high schools as a conductor, composer and a teacher of vocal. Thanks to his excellence, musicals ‘Rent’ (Jonathan Larson) and ‘Chicago’ (John Kanter) had a great success on Lithuanian stages.

The faculty community is always delighted by professor’s highly professional lectures, sincere communication and cooperation with educators and students of the Musical Theater study program. He was especially pleased to hear that all of the Department students and lecturers sincerely call him “our Professor”. Derek Barnes emphasized that students from the Musical Theater study program are motivated, prepared for vocal and have a good knowledge of professional musical literature.

To summarize, the intensive four-day solo singing training, Professor Derek Barnes promised to continue nice collaboration and share his professional knowledge and personal contacts with the community of Musical Theater Study Program.
